The centuries old game of croquet has evolved into a true competitive sport worldwide. Thousands of players compete in organized clubs in England, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Egypt and many other countries as well as the United States. There are local, regional, national and international tournaments all over the world. In this country there is even a national organization, The United States Croquet Association, headquartered in West Palm Beach, Florida. The version of the game played in the majority of American clubs is called "six wicket croquet". For a brief summary see "Fundamentals of the Game".
